Getting started
A few short steps lead from registration to your first message: an account, email confirmation, a profile and an advert. Once we approve your advert — usually the same day — you can write to others.
1. Create an account
Open /register — the Join button is in the header and the footer. The form asks for:
- Username — 3 to 40 characters.
- Email — we send the confirmation link here.
- Password and Confirm password — 8 to 20 characters, with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one digit.
- Role — Parent if you're looking for a sitter, Sitter if you'd like families to hire you.
- Terms — tick the terms box, then click Join.
2. Verify your email
After you click Join you land on the Check your inbox screen. We send a confirmation link to the address you entered; it's valid for 24 hours. Click it and we take you back to sign-in with the message Email verified.
No email? Give it a minute and check your spam folder. If it still isn't there, or the link has expired, ask for a new one on the same screen or on the resend confirmation link page. If we can't send email at that moment, the screen tells you so and what to do next.
3. Sign in
Sign in at /login with the same email and password. Forgot your password? Click Forgot password? and we'll send you a link to set a new one; that link is valid for 24 hours too.
4. Profile, advert and first conversations
If you're a parent
- Browse sitters on /sitters and open any profile you like.
- Click the heart on a card to save a sitter; saved ones are on /my-bookmarks.
- Describe what you need on /my-post. Once we approve it, sitters find you on /sitter-jobs and you can write to them.
If you're a sitter
- Browse families' adverts on /sitter-jobs.
- Create your advert on /my-post. Once we approve it, families find you on /sitters and you can write to them.
- Save interesting families with the same heart; they're on /my-bookmarks.
The order is the same for everyone: your profile first at /my-profile, then your advert at /my-post — the advert is published with your profile. Once it's live, you hold conversations in your inbox (/inbox).
