What Siterka is
Siterka is where parents and caregivers find each other. Parents post an advert or browse profiles; nannies and babysitters create a profile and reply to the adverts that suit them. You agree the work, the rate and the terms directly between yourselves.
We are not an agency and we take no commission. We don't broker the arrangement and we take no cut of the hourly rate. Searching and a basic profile are free.
Your profile becomes public only once your advert is published. Until the advert has been reviewed, your profile isn't visible to anyone else — registering alone does not put you in the listing. Once signed in, you see more on other people's profiles than an unregistered visitor does.
The same rule applies to messages: to contact someone, you need a published advert of your own. The reason is simple — whoever receives your message should be able to open your advert and see who is getting in touch. The one exception is replying: if someone has already written to you, you can answer without a published advert.
How it started
The site launched in 2007, when finding a nanny meant asking around the neighbourhood. The idea was simple: make one place where supply and demand are visible together, instead of relying on luck and second-hand recommendations.
For years Siterka ranked among the first search results for terms like “dadilja” and “čuvanje dece” in Serbia.
A five-year pause
In 2021 work on the site stopped and the domain sat idle for five years. That is longer than we would have liked, and there is no sense pretending otherwise. During that time other services appeared, and search engines and automated tools began confusing our history with someone else's.
In June 2026 Siterka relaunched — a new application, written from scratch, under the same name and with the same purpose. We did not change our name, we did not merge with any other platform, and we have never operated under another brand.

What we check
We would rather be precise about what review actually covers. Three things pass through a human before they become visible:
- Every advert — reviewed before it appears in the public listing.
- Every message — messages between parents and sitters are reviewed before they reach the recipient.
- Every rating — both the score and the comment wait for approval before showing on a profile.
What we don't do yet
We do not run formal background checks or criminal-record searches. Registering an account means confirming an email address and nothing more. We say so plainly, because knowing where the line sits is better than trusting a badge that promises more than it delivers.
So we always encourage you to do your own checking: talk to the person, ask for references and contacts from previous families, and arrange a short trial before committing. More advanced verification is planned, and we will write about it when it is ready.
Who is behind the site
Siterka is run by “milani”, a small company based in Belgrade. The site is built and maintained by one person, so a reply to your message comes from someone who actually knows how it all works. If you have a suggestion, a complaint, or you've hit something broken — get in touch, we read everything.
