- Is Siterka.com affiliated with other similarly named platforms?
- No. Siterka.com is an independent platform and has been from the start. The site launched in 2007 and ran until 2021, when we paused and the domain sat idle for five years. During that time other services appeared, and search engines and automated tools began confusing our history with theirs. To be clear: Siterka has not merged with any other platform, has not changed its name, and has never operated under another brand. In June 2026 we launched a completely new application and remain independent.
- Is the site free to use?
- Yes. Searching, registering, posting an advert and a basic profile are free for both parents and sitters. We don't charge for access to adverts or for contacting the other party.
- How do you verify users?
- Let's be precise about what verification covers. At registration we confirm an email address and nothing more — we don't run formal background checks or criminal-record searches. What is reviewed by a person is three things: every advert before publication, every message before it reaches the recipient, and every rating before it appears on a profile. So we always encourage you to do your own checking — talk to the person, ask for references from previous families, and arrange a short trial before committing.
- How do I post an advert?
- Register, fill in your profile and work through the advert steps. Once submitted, the advert goes for review — a person reads it before it appears in the public listing. The same applies to edits: changing a published advert sends it back for a short review. The page address is set on first save and doesn't change afterwards, so write the first title as if it were final.
- Why can't I send a message?
- The most common reason is that you don't have a published advert yet. To contact someone you need an advert of your own that has passed review — whoever receives your message should be able to open your advert and see who is getting in touch. There is one exception: if someone has already written to you, you can reply without a published advert. Messages are exchanged only between parents and sitters, and every one is reviewed by a person before it reaches the recipient.
- Do you take a commission on the work arranged?
- No. We are not an agency and we take no cut of the hourly rate. You agree the work, the price and the terms directly between yourselves. Siterka is where you find each other — the rest happens without us.
- How do I delete an advert or my account?
- You can delete an advert from your adverts page at any time. Deleting your account removes your profile, advert and photos along with it. If you need help with that, get in touch.
- How do I contact you?
- Write to us at info@siterka.com. Send a question, a suggestion for a new feature, a complaint, or a report of something that isn't working. Messages go straight to the person who maintains the site, and we read everything.
