Reading & writing blog

The blog is a small magazine written by people on the platform — sitters and parents both. Anyone with a Siterka account can publish a post; an admin reviews each one before it appears in the public list.

Reading the blog

Open /blogs from the footer or the header menu. The home shows the newest pieces first; scroll for older. Tap any cover to read the full piece. Each blog page has its own URL — feel free to share.

Blog index. Cover photos and titles only — no infinite scroll, just a long page once we have more pieces.

Writing a post

From /blogs tap Write a blog post, or open /blogs/new directly. The composer is one long form: Title, Cover photo, and Body. Body supports plain text and line breaks — keep it readable, not too long.

Composer. The cover hint on the right reminds you that landscape photos render best on cards.

Cover photo

Drag an image into the cover slot or use the picker. Landscape (3:2 or 16:9) crops cleanly on cards; portrait shots work but get cropped tightly. Like post photos, we generate four sizes for you.

Submit and admin approval

Submitting saves your post in pending state. An admin reads each post before it appears on /blogs. Once approved, your name and avatar show as the byline. Posts you've written but not yet had approved are visible to you on /my-blog-posts.

Your blog dashboard. Pending posts are flagged so you can keep editing while you wait.

Editing later

Open /my-blog-posts, find the post, and use Edit. Each edit re-enters the approval queue, but the previously approved version stays visible in the meantime. The post URL stays the same — slugs lock at first save and never change.

Deleting a post

Same dashboard at /my-blog-posts has a delete action per post. This removes the post and its cover photos; comments don't exist on blog posts today, so there's nothing else attached.

What admins look for

We approve pieces that feel personal and useful — a story, a tip, a hard lesson, a small portrait. We don't approve thinly-disguised ads, content that names minors, or anything that copies someone else's writing. If a post needs small edits, an admin may suggest changes via chat before approving.
